After an early breakfast in the camp, you'll check out and drive to Lake Nakuru, skirting the Aberdare Mountain ranges to Nyahururu falls for a photo stop. Still known to many as Thomson’s Falls, its waters fall 237 feet, making it the country’s highest waterfall. You'll enjoy magnificent views of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

Lunch at your lodge.

At 4:00 pm, you'll depart for a wildlife viewing drive in the park. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it’s recognized as one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times, there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore.

Masai Mara National Reserve

You'll enjoy two full days in the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. This 650 square kilometer reserve features open plains bisected by the Mara River, marshes, and forests, supporting the highest wildlife density for its size anywhere. As the northern tip of the Serengeti ecosystem, it hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and predators.

Between game drives, you'll return to your lodge for meals and relaxation. For an extraordinary perspective, consider a hot-air balloon safari—a unique opportunity to witness the landscape from above. Floating over riverine forests, sprawling savannahs, towering escarpments, and rugged rivers, you'll gain unparalleled views of the wildlife below.

This unforgettable aerial adventure showcases the Mara from a completely different angle, complementing your traditional game drives. All meals and accommodation are provided at Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Sarova Mara Game Camp, or Mara Sopa Lodge.
