After breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up at 7:30 am to begin the two-hour journey to Tarangire National Park. You will drive 120 km on tarmac road to the park, which covers 2,850 square kilometers (1,005 square miles). Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, then continue with an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is home to lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, pythons, zebras, oryx, impalas, and more. Over 450 bird species have been observed here. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a lodge or camp in Karatu.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will travel through the cooler highlands toward the southern Serengeti. By midday, you will reach the plains of Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and features diverse habitats and landscapes, including short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape, where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for the annual Great Migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras searching for fresh grass and water. Your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

Day 3

Today is devoted to exploring the wonders of the Central Serengeti. Rise with the sun for a full day of thrilling game drives and witness the incredible diversity of wildlife that calls this region home, including the “Big Five:” lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos. Keep your camera ready to capture unforgettable moments in this wildlife paradise. As the day ends, return to your cozy accommodation in Central Serengeti, where the sounds of the wilderness will lull you to sleep.
You can also choose to glide in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at an additional cost by pre-arrangement). Float silently above the awakening bush while spotting wildlife and enjoying the stunning scenery of Africa, drifting over rivers and small villages.

Day 4

After breakfast, you will descend 600 meters into the crater for game viewing. This massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 mammals, including the “Big Five:” lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard, as well as spotted hyenas, rare warthogs, and more than 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, you will leave the caldera in the late afternoon and drive to Mto wa Mbu for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Today you’ll partake in the ancient traditions of one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer groups, the Hadzabe community, on a cultural tour. You will witness their exceptional hunting and foraging skills as you join them on traditional expeditions using bows and arrows, gaining insight into their sustainable way of life closely connected to nature. Immerse yourself in their vibrant dances, rhythmic singing, and storytelling, experiencing the rich cultural heritage passed down through generations. Discover their deep knowledge of medicinal plants and healing practices, highlighting their reliance on the natural world for sustenance and well-being. Day 6
Lake Eyas - Lake Manyara National Park

This morning you’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Set against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley, the park features evergreen groundwater forest and diverse ecosystems including acacia woodland, grassy plains, a swampy fan delta, and the expansive lake. This variety attracts many mammal, bird, and wildlife species. Lake Manyara is also home to rare tree-climbing lions. The park offers excellent game viewing with buffalo, impala, giraffe, bushbuck, waterbuck, hippos, and many elephants roaming near the lake. You can also spot blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, and active olive baboon troops. Lake Manyara is a delight, with a large variety of birds on display. Your trip will end in the late afternoon, after which you will proceed to Moshi town or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
