We will collect you from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and embark on a 50-minute drive to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. Along the way, you’ll pass through Machame village, nestled on the mountain’s lower slopes.
The trek begins at the gate, leading you through a lush rainforest along a winding ridge trail. The lower path can be muddy and slippery, making trekking poles and gaiters useful. You'll continue through the forest until reaching Machame Camp, where you'll settle in for the night.

Day 2

Your day begins with a hearty breakfast before departing the rainforest and following a steadily rising trail.
As you progress, you'll traverse a small valley and climb a rugged, rocky ridge adorned with heather, eventually reaching its peak. The trail then veers westward, guiding you into a picturesque river gorge, where you can pause to rest and enjoy dinner.
The day's trek concludes at Shira Camp, where you'll settle in for the night, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.

Day 3
Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Your journey begins with an ascent eastward from the Shira Plateau, following a ridge toward Kibo Peak.
As you advance, the trail shifts southeast, leading to the striking Lava Tower, also known as the "Shark’s Tooth." Beyond this point, you’ll encounter another junction that ascends toward the Arrow Glacier at 16,000 feet.
The route then descends to Barranco Hut at 13,000 feet, where you'll unwind, have dinner, and stay overnight—an essential day for acclimatization before your summit attempt.

Day 4

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
After breakfast, you’ll set out from Barranco, navigating a steep ridge and tackling the demanding Barranco Wall before reaching Karanga Valley Camp.
From Karanga, the path ascends toward the junction connecting with the Mweka Trail. Continuing upward, you’ll arrive at Barafu Hut, completing the South Circuit, which offers breathtaking summit views from multiple angles.
Here, you'll set up camp, relax, have dinner, and prepare for the summit push, all while enjoying stunning views of Mawenzi and Kibo.

Day 5
Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Hut

Your summit ascent begins between midnight and 2 AM, navigating steep scree slopes toward Stella Point on the crater rim.
After a brief rest at Stella Point (18,600 ft), you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise, weather permitting, before pushing on to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa.
The descent leads straight to Mweka Hut, with a lunch stop at Barafu. Gaiters and trekking poles are essential for the loose gravel terrain. Expect mist or rain at Mweka Camp, where you'll enjoy a final mountain dinner and a well-earned rest.

Day 6
Mweka Camp to Moshi/Arusha
Mweka Camp to Moshi/Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll resume your descent to Mweka Park Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates. The lower elevations can be wet and muddy, so gaiters and trekking poles are recommended. Light clothing such as shorts and t-shirts should suffice, but keep rain gear and warmer layers accessible.
From the gate, you’ll trek for another hour to Mweka Village, where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Arusha.
