Departure from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park and a Game Drive

You will be picked up from your hotel or the airport at 5:00am, where your professional driver will take you on a scenic 3.5-hour drive to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) via the Kisarawe route. On arrival, you will set off on an exciting game drive that lasts until sunset. Along the way, you will have the chance to spot elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and many other animals, as well as a variety of birdlife. The park's landscape is just as impressive! From wetlands and dry grasslands to light acacia forests and higher ground offering sweeping views of distant mountains. After a full day of exploration, you will head to your camp or lodge for dinner and a good night's rest.

Full-Day Game Drive at Nyerere National Park

You will start your day with a hearty breakfast before setting off on an unforgettable adventure into the vast wilderness of Nyerere National Park. As you explore, you will be welcomed by herds of elephants, mighty buffalo, prides of lions, elegant giraffes, zebras, impalas, and perhaps even catch sight of the park's famous African wild dogs. Nyerere National Park is home to more of these rare predators than any other park in Tanzania!

Around midday, you will stop for a picnic lunch at a safe and scenic spot, the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy your meal, and take in the stunning surroundings while keeping watch for passing wildlife.

By late afternoon, you will return to the lodge at around 5:00pm, where a delicious dinner and a peaceful night's rest await, readying you for whatever adventures the next day may bring.

Boat Safari and Return to Dar Es Salaam

After breakfast at 7:00am, you will set off on a peaceful boat trip along the Rufiji River. Departing around 7:30am and returning by 9:00am, this is the perfect way to take in the river's stunning scenery. You will glide past pods of hippos, basking crocodiles and vibrant birdlife. If you are lucky, you might catch a few of the breathtaking sunrises reflected on the water. There is nothing quite like the calm of the river in the early morning light.

After the boat trip, you will begin the drive back to Dar es Salaam at approximately 10:00am, with drop-off at your hotel or any other point of interest. This marks the end of your safari. We hope it is just the start of a lasting friendship.
