Nairobi - Masai Mara

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning and travel toward the fertile highlands of Kenya. Descend via the Great Rift Valley escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. Have a glimpse of the attractive chapel they built at the foot of the escarpment. Pass via the magnificent Longonot earth satellite station as you proceed across the valley to Narok, experiencing breathtaking views of the world’s greatest land rift and move across acres of barley and wheat, before you reach your camp in time for lunch.

On an afternoon game drive within the reserve, you will appreciate its high animal concentration and abundance of black-maned lion, herds of topi, roan antelope, cheetah, common zebra, Coke’s hartebeest, though luck is essential for spotting leopard and rhino. You'll return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Masai Mara National Reserve

A very early morning game drive in the Masai Mara is the ideal time to see wildlife, as temperatures are cooler and lions, cheetahs, and leopards are likely roaming the vast grasslands in search of prey. Return to the lodge/camp for breakfast. You can spend the rest of the morning at leisure or partake in optional activities, such as a visit to a Maasai village to see their nomadic life (extra cost). After lunch at the lodge, there is a chance to relax by the swimming pool before another game drive. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Alternatively, instead of a morning and afternoon game drive, you can opt for a full-day game drive. In this case, you will have an early breakfast, then leave the lodge carrying a picnic lunch box. You will spend the full day exploring the vast plains inhabited by a great variety of big game and plains animals.

Much as we'd like your tour with us to last forever, sadly, today marks the end of your safari. After breakfast, you will check out of the camp/lodge and head to Nairobi, where, upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, ending your wonderful safari with us!
