Day 1

Pick Up and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Pick Up and Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will be picked up by the guide from the hotel in Kampala after breakfast in the morning at around 8: 00 am and head to Kibale national park. Along the way, you will make a stopover at the equator in Mpigi district where you will be taught about the effects of the earth’s magnetic fields in southern and northern hemispheres and at 0 latitude (Equator).

After that, you will continue to Mbarara town where you have another stopover for lunch at silverback hotel in Mbarara town. After your lunch, you will then proceed to Kibale National park, check into the hotel, refresh, have dinner.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

You will be up in the morning for breakfast, and then set off for chimpanzee trek, which is one of the main highlights of a visit to Kibale National Park. The trek will last 3-4 hours and will be guided by a knowledgeable ranger who will provide you with a brief on rules and regulations. You will hike through the lush forest of Kibale National park in search of habituated chimpanzee families. Once you come across the chimpanzees, you will have an hour to observe them as they go about their daily activities such as eating, grooming, and playing with their young ones. After the trek, you will return to the hotel for lunch, relaxation, and prepare for community walk. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast in the morning, you will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is approximately 5 hours away. This drive will provide you with the stunning views of Uganda’s countryside.

Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth national park, you will be checked in your accommodation and have lunch. After lunch, you will have the rest and prepare for the evening game drive.

Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will set out on a morning game drive in the national park, accompanied by a professional guide, which will last for 3 hours. The drive will provide you with an opportunity to watch a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, and so many others. After the game drive you will have lunch and then set off for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The 2-hour boat tour will take you through the watery home of hundreds of hippos and other wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and water birds. After the boat cruise, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5

You will wake up in the morning for breakfast and afterwards will be driven to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, which takes about 8 hours. Along the way, you will get the opportunity to see the beautiful Ugandan countryside. At the arrival you will be checked in for your accommodation and have lunch. Then you can have an optional community walk that involves an encounter with the Batwa.

You will be guided by the park rangers who will lead you through the thick forest in search of a family of a gorilla. The trek can last anywhere from a few hours to a whole day, but the experience of coming face -to – face with these magnificent primates is worth it. After that you will return to the lodge for rest and overnight stay. This will give you a room to relax after the day of adventure and explore the surrounding area.
