Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Begin your journey from Kampala or Entebbe early in the morning. The drive to Bwindi takes 8-9 hours, showcasing breathtaking countryside views. Pass through rolling hills, lush plantations, and stunning landscapes leading to the Virunga massif. Ensure your camera is ready for these spectacular sights. Your driver will stop for photo opportunities along the way.

Make a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe to enjoy a quick experiment and take memorable photos. Afterward, continue to Mbarara town, where you’ll pause for lunch. From there, embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi, arriving in time to settle at your lodge. Relax and prepare for the next day’s trekking adventure.

Gorilla Trekking and Community Walk

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Ruhija Park Headquarters. Join a group for a pre-trek briefing from park rangers. They’ll guide you on safety measures and what to expect during your trek.

Enter the forest for a trek lasting between 30 minutes and 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Upon finding the gorilla family, spend one hour observing their interactions. Take photos and cherish the rare opportunity of being close to these incredible creatures.

After your trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your tracking certificate. This marks your successful gorilla trekking experience in Uganda.
Rest for the afternoon and embark on a community walk later in the evening. Return to the lodge for your dinner and rest for the day.
