Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.
In the evening, meet your mountain guide for a detailed briefing, equipment check, and preparation for your Kilimanjaro adventure.

Day 2

Arusha to Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast, drive to Lemosho Gate for registration before beginning your trek through the lush rainforest zone.
The trail winds through dense forest rich with birdlife, monkeys, and unique vegetation. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Today’s trek leaves the rainforest and enters the moorland zone with spectacular views across the Shira Plateau.
The trail becomes steeper as you ascend into open terrain with giant heathers and volcanic landscapes.

Hiking Time: 5–6 hours

Day 4

This is an important acclimatization day. Trek across the Shira Plateau and gradually ascend to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp.
The “climb high, sleep low” strategy helps improve acclimatization and increases summit success rates.

Day 5

After breakfast, climb the famous Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the route.
At the top, enjoy spectacular panoramic views before continuing across alpine terrain towards Karanga Camp.

Day 6

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Today’s trek is shorter but important as you move into the summit zone.
Arrive at Barafu Camp in the afternoon and rest early while preparing for your midnight summit attempt. Your guides will provide a final briefing and equipment check.

Habitat: Alpine Desert.

Day 7

Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Around midnight, begin your summit attempt under the stars. This is the most challenging and rewarding stage of the climb.
Ascend gradually towards Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement while enjoying breathtaking sunrise views above the clouds and glaciers.

After reaching the summit, descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp for overnight.

Day 8

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha

After a well-deserved early breakfast, you will embark on a short, scenic three-hour hike back to the park gate. Once at the gate, you will sign the register and receive your summit certificate. Climbers who reached Stella Point (5,685 meters) are awarded a green certificate, while those who reached the Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) will receive a gold certificate.

From Mweka Gate, you'll continue your descent to Mweka Village, a typically muddy 3km (one-hour) hike. Upon arrival at the village, you will be transferred back to Arusha, where you can freshen up and celebrate your accomplishment!
