Day 1

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Your safari adventure begins early in the morning as your guide picks you up from your hotel in Arusha. After a short briefing about the journey ahead, you set off on a scenic drive across the Great Rift Valley, through Maasai villages, and past the lush highlands of Ngorongoro. The route itself is part of the experience.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch en route before entering the vast plains of Serengeti National Park in the afternoon. The Serengeti immediately captivates with its sweeping savannahs dotted with acacia trees, herds of grazing antelopes, and the occasional silhouette of a giraffe.

In the late afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the Serengeti, tracking prides of lions, watching elephants grazing, and spotting cheetahs as they scan the horizon for prey.. As the sun sets, you’ll head to your lodge or tented camp for a warm dinner and your first overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

The Great wildnerness of Serengeti

The Great wildnerness of Serengeti

After an early breakfast, set out for a full day of game drives in the Serengeti, with the option to start at sunrise when predators are most active. The Serengeti’s ecosystem is incredibly diverse, and your guide will take you through different regions of the park from open grasslands to rocky outcrops known as kopjes, where lions are often seen basking.

Throughout the day, keep your eyes open for a wide variety of wildlife: leopards resting in the trees, massive elephant herds marching across the plains, and hippos cooling off in the rivers.

You’ll pause for a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by the sounds of nature, before continuing with more wildlife viewing in the afternoon.

The day ends back at your accommodation, where you can relax, enjoy a hearty dinner, and take in the star-filled African night sky. Some camps even offer a campfire experience, adding to the sense of adventure.

Ngorongoro to Arusha

Wake up early and bid farewell to the Serengeti as you enjoy a final game drive en route out of the park. From Serengeti, you’ll drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a journey that offers yet more wildlife sightings along the way.

Once you reach Ngorongoro, you’ll descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most remarkable natural wonders in Africa. The crater floor is home to over 25,000 animals in a relatively small area, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to see the Big Five in a single day. Lions, elephants, buffaloes, and even the rare black rhino are often spotted here.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch by a scenic spot inside the crater before continuing your game drive across the varied landscapes of this unique ecosystem. In the afternoon, you ascend back to the rim and begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving in the early evening with memories of an incredible three-day safari.
