Day 1

Today we drive to Tarangire National Park, for excellent game viewing. Tarangire is a small park which offers some excellent sights. Generally in the dry seasons Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water. This park is often referred to as the "home of elephants", you have a great chance to spot elephants in large groups gathering around the Tarangire River. Other animals to be spotted include leopards, lions, giraffes and even tree-climbing pythons! Evening we drive to endoro for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Early after breakfast we drive from Endoro Lodge to Serengeti National Park via plains of Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We drive into the Serengeti itself with and the rest of the afternoon is spent game viewing in the vast plains that are broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. In December, February and March we will normally meet the migration with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffe, buffalo, and elephant, and many large predators such as lion, cheetah, and leopard. In the evening we drive to Serengeti central lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

We start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a Conservation Area, not a National Park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. During the drive in Ngorongoro we have a chance to glimpse something of the Masai way of life. After stopping at the entrance gate, where there is a chance to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape, we will drive around the rim of the Crater for dinner and overnight at Ngoro Ngoro wild camp.

Day 4

Begin your full day of exploring the crater, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Look for the "Big Five" (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos), as well as zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and more. Visit Lake Magadi, a large soda lake in the crater where you might spot flamingos and other water birds. Picnic Lunch at a Designated Site Enjoy your packed lunch at a designated picnic spot, often by the hippo pool where you can watch these massive creatures wallowing in the water. After lunch, continue with a leisurely game drive through the crater. Your guide will take you to various ecosystems, including swamps, forests, and open plains, to maximize your chances of seeing diverse wildlife. Ascend the Crater and drive to Arusha for overnight stay B/B.
