Day 1
Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Today we will drive to Tarangire National Park for game viewing. Tarangire is a small park offering excellent sights. During the dry season, the park comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate along the Tarangire River, which is a permanent water source. This park is often referred to as the “home of elephants,” and you have a great chance to spot large groups gathering around the river. Other animals to be seen include leopards, lions, giraffes, and even tree-climbing pythons. In the evening, you will drive to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, we will drive from the lodge to Serengeti National Park via the plains of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We then enter the Serengeti, and the rest of the afternoon will be spent game viewing across vast plains broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. In December, February, and March, we may encounter parts of the Great Migration, with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. There are always plenty of resident animals such as giraffe, buffalo, and elephant, as well as large predators including lion, cheetah, and leopard. In the evening, we will drive to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3
Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
We will start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a conservation area, not a national park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Maasai people, who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. During the drive in Ngorongoro, we have a chance to glimpse something of the Maasai way of life. After stopping at the entrance gate, where there is an opportunity to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape, we will continue to drive around the rim of the crater for dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
Begin your full day exploring the crater, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Look for the Big Five (lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos), as well as zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and more. You will also visit Lake Magadi, a large soda lake in the crater where you might spot flamingos and other water birds.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site, often near the hippo pool, where you can watch these massive creatures wallowing in the water. After lunch, continue with a leisurely game drive through the crater as your guide takes you through different ecosystems, including swamps, forests, and open plains, to maximize your chances of seeing diverse wildlife. In the late afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to Arusha.
