Arrival and Afternoon Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

Morning: Flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara
Morning pick up from JKIA and transfer to Wilson Airport for the 9.30 am flight to Masai Mara. The flight traverses the Great Rift Valley, providing aerial views of escarpments and volcanic formations. Upon landing, our guides will meet you at the airstrip for a short transfer to the camp. En route, an introductory game drive often yields sightings of elephants, giraffes, and zebras.

You'll check in for lunch as you acclimate to the surroundings. The camp offers panoramic decks overlooking the Talek River overlooking the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Afternoon: Game Drive and Sundowner
The afternoon game drive begins at 3:30 PM into the Mara plains where lion prides and cheetahs hunt. Our vehicles are equipped with VHF radio to track recent sightings, increasing the likelihood of encountering leopards or rhinos. The drive concludes with a sundowner stop where you'll enjoy beverages while watching the sunset over the savannah.

Full-Day Game Drives and Cultural Immersion in Masai Mara National Reserve

Dawn: Early Morning Game Drive
Departing at 6:00 AM, you'll explore the Mara during peak predator activity. This drive often reveals nocturnal animals returning to their dens and diurnal species beginning their daily routines. The guide may visit a hippo pool or the Mara River, where crocodiles bask on sandbanks.

Midday: Bush Breakfast and Reserve Exploration
A bush breakfast is served at a scenic location (at a fee), allowing you to dine amidst acacia trees and grazing herds. The day continues with visits to the far reaches of the Maasai Mara, regions known for high cheetah density and migratory bird species.

Afternoon: Maasai Village Visit when not doing a full day game drive
Optional activities include a visit to a Maasai manyatta (village), where warriors demonstrate traditional dances and explain their pastoralist lifestyle. Alternatively, you depart with picnic lunches for a full-day game drive into the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Airstrip transfer and flight to Nairobi
You will pack your bags abd bid your host goodbye as you transfer to the airstrip for an 11:00 AM flight, arriving in Nairobi by noon. Our driver will be waiting at Wilson Airport to transfer you back tou your Hotel in Nairobi or to JKIA for your international flight connection ensuring a stress-free conclusion to the safari.
You may consider extending your stay during migration season or exploring adjacent conservancies for a more comprehensive understanding of the Mara’s ecological and cultural tapestry.
