Kafunta River Lodge’s secluded setting offers a more private and immersive safari experience, far from the busier areas of the park. During your stay, you’ll have the chance to enjoy more than just game drives — guided bush walks, visits to a specialist photography hide, and a trip to the nearby Chipembele Wildlife Education Centre (just 20 minutes away) are all part of the experience.

Across the next few days, you’ll explore the rich wildlife of South Luangwa, known for its exceptional predator sightings — leopards are often spotted on evening drives. Herds of elephants and buffalo roam the plains, and you’ll likely encounter endemic species like puku antelopes. Birdlife is abundant, making binoculars a must.

When you’re not out exploring, Kafunta’s impressive facilities make relaxing just as memorable. Unwind by the pool with sweeping views of the floodplains, indulge in a spa treatment, or keep active in the lodge’s gym.
