3-Day Selous Safari from Dar Es Salaam

Transfer to Selous & Sunset Boat Safari

Our professional driver will pick you up from the Airport or any Hotel in Dar es salaam and he’ll transfer you to Selous Kinga Lodge. The distance is about 180 Km which is a 4-hour drive. You will arrive In time for lunch. Later you’ll depart for a sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji river at 4:00 Pm. The cruise normally last for two hours, Awesome views of hippos growling, crocodiles basking on the banks and the abundant birdlife will spice up your spectacular dawn. After the Boat Safari you’ll be transferred back to the lodge for a beautiful and luscious dinner and an overnight stay on the banks of the Great Rufiji River.

Game Drive in the vast Nyerere National Park

After a full breakfast, you will depart with packed lunch and drinks then you will drive into the vast Selous Game Reserve to explore the diverse wildlife and undisturbed nature for a full day. Countless elephants and buffaloes, prides of lions, giraffes, zebras and impalas are quite common. Selous is also quite famous for having many African wild dogs compared to any national park in Tanzania. You will enjoy a bush lunch from a safe vantage point with a beautiful scenery and keeping an eye out for wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll then continue with the afternoon game drive. Later at around 5 pm you’ll begin your drive back to the lodge for scrumptious dinner and an overnight.

Bush Walk, Cultural Village Tour & Departure to Dar es salaam

You will get up early for a little coffee or tea then you will depart the lodge and make your way into reserve for a walking Safari accompanied by an armed ranger. The Park has a variety of vegetation zones, ranging from dense thickets to open wooded grasslands. After the walking Safari, transfer back to the lodge for a full breakfast. Later at 10:00Am you’ll leave for an eye opening cultural village tour for approximately 2 hours then you will head back to the lodge for your afternoon lunch and you will have ample time to relax. Then you’ll check out at 2 pm and begin the drive back to Dar es salaam. You will arrive in the city at around 6pm our driver will drop you off at the airport or at any hotel in Dar es salaam. Check-out from Selous Kinga Lodge can be made earlier depending on your international departure flight.
