Nairobi to Amboseli National Park – Initial Immersion
The safari begins with a 6:30 AM pickup from Nairobi hotels or JKIA. The 240 km journey takes you southeast through Machakos County, passing agricultural landscapes dominated by sisal plantations. A strategic stop at Emali town allows for restroom breaks and souvenir purchases at Maasai craft markets.
The final approach to Amboseli’s Kimana Gate offers the first panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peaks, weather permitting
You'll check in at the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
The afternoon game drive targets the Enkongo Narok swamp, where elephant herds congregate to feed on succulent grasses. You will also visit the Observation Hill, a volcanic ash cone providing elevated vantage points for photography. Key sightings include Amboseli’s 1,600+ elephants, including legendary “big tuskers” with ivory exceeding 45 kg, Lions stalking buffalo calves near swamp edges, and 420+ bird species.
You'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Intensive Wildlife Viewing and Return to Nairobi
Intensive Wildlife Viewing and Return to Nairobi
Pre-Dawn Game Drive (6:00 am–9:00 am)
Early departures capitalize on optimal wildlife activity and Kilimanjaro visibility. Vehicles navigate to the Ol Tukai wetlands, where sunrise illuminates elephant silhouettes against the mountain. This is the best time for spotting nocturnal hunters like leopards returning to treetop hideaways. This morning drive explores the park’s northwestern woodlands, tracking giraffe herds and dik-dik antelopes. Guides monitor VHF radios for ranger alerts about rare sightings like cheetah kills on the open plains.
Breakfast and Cultural Interaction (9:30 am –10:30 am)
You'll return to the lodge for breakfast with an optional Maasai village visit (USD 20–50 pp), demonstrating traditional dances, fire-making, and herbal medicine practices.
Departure (11:00 am –12:00 pm)
You'll bid your host goodbye as you drive back to Nairobi with lunch en route. Our driver will drop you off at your hotel in Nairobi or JKIA in time for your international flight connection.
