Day 1

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport in the morning. Drive to the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a powerful and insightful visit (approx. 1–1.5 hrs). Afterward, continue the scenic drive southwest toward Nyungwe National Park, passing through Rwanda’s lush hills, tea plantations, and local villages. Enjoy lunch en route. Day 2

Set out early for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. After a briefing from park rangers, head into the forest in search of chimpanzees, listening for their calls and watching for movement in the trees. Along the way, encounter other primates, birds, and beautiful flora. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, enjoy the famous Nyungwe Canopy Walk—an exhilarating experience suspended 50 meters above the forest floor, offering panoramic views of the treetops and the forest canopy. After breakfast, depart Nyungwe and drive north to Volcanoes National Park through Rwanda’s scenic countryside, passing tea plantations and rolling hills. Arrive in Musanze town for lunch before visiting the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund headquarters. At the center, learn about Dian Fossey’s groundbreaking gorilla research and ongoing conservation efforts protecting mountain gorillas. Explore the informative exhibits and meet staff involved in research and community programs. Later, check into your lodge near the park. Enjoy dinner and overnight, preparing for gorilla trekking the following day.
