Transfer to mgahinga national park

After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will brief you about your day’s safari. The journey goes through Masaka district, and several stopovers are granted, the major one at the Uganda equator for photography and viewing, another one at Igongo Cultural Centre for the visit to the Ankole Kigezi museum, and lunch. Then proceed with your journey to Mgahinga National Park, the smallest national park in the country but full of interesting wildlife, such as the golden monkeys and mountain gorillas. On arrival after a long journey, you will check in at the safari lodge for your accommodation.

Gorilla trekking

Wake up early and have breakfast. Pack your lunch afterward, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on the trek. You’ll be grouped with other trekkers, assigned to a specific gorilla family, and led by a professional ranger guide. The trek could last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find the gorilla family, you’ll be allowed one hour to observe and photograph these magnificent creatures in their natural environment. Watch them as they play, eat, and interact with each other an unforgettable and humbling experience. You will transfer back to the lodge relax and later have dinner and overnight.

Golden monkey trekking & transfer back to kampala

Delight in a delicious breakfast, set off for a golden monkey trekking adventure. Make your way to the park offices for a comprehensive briefing session. This crucial exercise typically takes around 30 minutes, where you will receive essential instructions designed to ensure the success and safety of your trek These playful primates are a highlight for those who are keen on wildlife photography and spending time in the forest. Golden monkeys are unique to the Virunga region, and their energetic behavior makes them fascinating to observe as they jump through the trees and interact in large troops, this takes 3-4 hours. After this experience, check out of the lodge and return to Kampala with lunch on the way. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening and be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
