Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, you’ll be warmly greeted by our representative and transferred to your charming hotel in the heart of the capital. Take in your first sights of Madagascar’s vibrant culture, colonial architecture, and rolling highland landscapes.

After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore at your own pace. Dinner is not included, but you may wish to try a local Malagasy restaurant nearby. For those feeling adventurous, an optional short city walk or visit to a local crafts market can be arranged on request.

Depart Antananarivo after breakfast and fly to Fort-Dauphin, where your southern adventure begins. Meet your guide and embark on a scenic 4x4 drive through surreal spiny forests to the legendary Berenty Reserve. Along the way, stop to snap photos, explore strange flora, and absorb the shifting landscapes.

After settling in, join a guided night walk to encounter Madagascar’s mysterious nocturnal creatures—tiny lemurs, owls, and chameleons.

Day 3 brings a full-day guided exploration of Berenty, famous for its thriving lemur population and birdlife. Spot playful ring-tailed lemurs, dancing Verreaux’s sifakas, and vibrant endemic birds in the spiny and gallery forests. Your journey north begins, awaken to the serene sounds of Berenty and enjoy a final breakfast surrounded by lemur calls and the scent of the spiny forest.

After checking out, begin your scenic 4x4 journey back to Fort-Dauphin, winding through dramatic desert-like landscapes dotted with baobabs and traditional villages. Enjoy unhurried stops along the way to stretch, take photos, or chat with locals as you leave this remote wilderness behind.

At Fort-Dauphin Airport, board your return flight to Antananarivo. Upon landing in the capital, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax or explore. Dinner is not included, but the city boasts excellent options ranging from fine dining to authentic Malagasy eateries. Optional: visit a nearby gallery, browse artisanal shops, or take a short sunset walk in the Upper Town.

Wild Wonders of Andasibe

Your journey continues east as you trade city streets for rainforest canopies.

Travel from Antananarivo to Andasibe, watching the landscape shift to emerald-green hills and dense forest. En route, stop at the Peyrieras Reptile and Butterfly Farm to see vivid chameleons, frogs, and geckos up close. Upon arrival, settle into your forest lodge before heading out on a guided night walk in Voimma Reserve, where nocturnal lemurs and frogs reveal the secrets of the dark.

On Day 6, wake to birdsong and set out for a guided trek through Analamazaotra National Park, home to the famous Indri lemur and other endemic species. Later, paddle by canoe to Lemur Island in the Vakona Private Reserve for close-up encounters with playful lemurs. Optional: relax at the lodge, try additional forest walks, or birdwatch in one of Madagascar’s richest avian regions.
