This hike is ideal for warming up your legs while soaking in nature and wildlife in a peaceful setting.

Today you head to the eastern side of Mount Kilimanjaro for a day hike along the Marangu Route. This route is known for its well-maintained trail and scenic beauty. Your hike begins at Marangu Gate (about 1,800m above sea level) and takes you through lush rainforest up to Mandara Hut (2,700m). Along the way, enjoy sightings of unique flora, birdlife, and possibly colobus monkeys. After resting at the hut, descend back and return to your lodge. It’s a rewarding way to experience Africa’s highest mountain without climbing to the summit.
