After breakfast, we depart for the iconic Tarangire National Park, named after the life-giving Tarangire River that flows through its heart. Known as the "River of Warthogs," this water source attracts a rich variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season. As we journey through the park, you'll encounter a diverse landscape ranging from dense acacia woodlands and towering baobab trees to lush groundwater forests. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, often seen gathering near the riverbanks. You may also spot giraffes, zebras, bushbucks, hartebeests, and more often trailed by stealthy predators like lions and leopards. Bird lovers will be amazed, as Tarangire hosts the highest number of breeding bird species in the world. After a picnic or lodge lunch and a rewarding afternoon game drive, we head to our accommodation within the park.
