Day 2
Nairobi to Masai Mara

Depart Nairobi at 10:30 and arrive in Masai Mara at 11:15, Estimated Flying Time: 45 minutes.
After breakfast, transfer to Wilson Airport for a scenic flight to the iconic Maasai Mara.
Kenya’s most renowned wildlife sanctuary. Upon arrival at Masai Mara, we will settle into our lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, we head out for our first game drive, where you will have the opportunity to see the Big Five and other wildlife species in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Meals and your overnight stay will be at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge.

Spend more time exploring the vast Masai Mara Game Reserve. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as we search for the abundant wildlife that inhabits the area. During the game drives, you may witness the incredible spectacle of the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River. Between game drives, you can relax at the lodge or participate in an optional visit to a Maasai village to learn about the traditional lifestyle and culture of the Maasai people (additional cost). In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch and drive to the Northern Serengeti in Tanzania (estimated driving distance: 7–9 hrs). The journey takes you through the Isebania border crossing, where immigration formalities are completed. Upon entering the Serengeti, embark on a game drive en route to Sero Tented Camp, spotting various wildlife along the way. Arrive at the camp in the late afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings before dinner.

Spend the full day immersed in the wild heart of the northern Serengeti, a remote and sparsely visited corner of the ecosystem where the Great Migration's drama unfolds with a fraction of the crowds. Begin with an early morning game drive along the Mara River, timed to catch the herds gathering at the water's edge. With luck, you'll witness a dramatic river crossing as wildebeest and zebra brave crocodile-infested waters in one of nature's most electrifying spectacles. Pause midday for a scenic bush lunch, laid out by your guide in the shade with sweeping views over the plains, before heading back out for an afternoon game drive in search of the resident predatorslike lion, cheetah, and leopard that follow the migration. As the light softens, drive to Sero Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a morning game drive before transferring toward Central Serengeti, taking in further wildlife sightings and breathtaking landscapes along the way. Keep an eye out for cat families lingering on the road as they wait out the morning mist, or a pride of lionesses organizing an ambush. You may also spot nocturnal predators returning from a long night's hunt, alongside other animals stirring to start their day in the Serengeti. Continue with an afternoon game drive in Central Serengeti before arriving at Friends - Serengeti Camp in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart with a packed lunch for a full day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater.
Descend nearly 2,000 feet into this extraordinary caldera, formed millions of years ago by a collapsed volcano once taller than Kilimanjaro. Widely regarded as the best game viewing in Tanzania, the crater floor packs forest, lake, and savannah habitats into 304 square kilometers, home to an estimated 25,000 large mammals including all of the Big Five plus flamingos and over 500 bird species. Enjoy lunch at the Crater Rim. Late afternoon, drive to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab-studded landscapes and some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Spend the morning on a game drive along the Tarangire River, the park's lifeline during the dry season and a magnet for wildlife. Expect sightings of elephant, lion, giraffe, and a rich variety of birdlife among the park's more than 550 recorded species. In the late afternoon, drive to Lake Burunge Tented Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
