Locals usually refer to it as Tana. In French colonial times, it was called Tananarive. Around a dozen different lemur species have been introduced to this forested 50-hectare private reserve on the shore of Lake Ampitabe; it's a real delight to watch these charming creatures folic in the trees and scamper around the restaurant.
