Day 1
Our tour will start with The Boma
The first stone building /Old Fort. Impressive two-storey building topped by crenellations, constructed in a U-shape in 1897. They are pointed arches on the ground floor. This was built by the Germans as the colonial administration headquarters of the first capital of the German East Africa and the Governors residence. The building exhibits strong tangible evidence of colonialism in Tanzania.
Then visit, Bomani: The German Colonial administration headquarters, as a memorial site for the first German East African Capital
Continue visit German Grave Yard, the historical place where the German soldiers were buried. Then proceed to visit Kaole Ruins: The Roman Catholic historical museum and the chapel which housed Dr Livingstone’s body before it was shipped to Westminster Abbey in London.
Other interested places are Bagamoyo Museum, College of Arts, German Hanging place, German cemetary, Mwanamakuka cemetary, LUKU House, Wissmann monument.
