We will pick you in your hotel in Moshi and drive to Nalemoru Gate on the northern side of Kilimanjaro, You’ll register with the park and begin your trek. The trail ascends gradually through farmland and dense forest, Rich in wildlife, Including monkeys and tropical birds. As you emerge from the forest into heathland, You’ll reach Simba Camp, a grassy campsite with views over the Kenyan plains.

Day 2

Today is a long but gradual ascent through open moorland. You’ll pass Second Cave (3,450m), a rest spot used on the standard Rongai Route, before continuing east to Third Cave Camp. This variation helps with acclimatization and offers a quieter, more remote trail. You’ll notice the terrain becoming more barren, and temperatures dropping as you approach the alpine desert zone.

Day 3
Third Cave Camp to Kibo Hut (4700 m)

Zone: Alpine Desert
Today is a shorter hike, but the altitude makes it more strenuous. The trail crosses the Saddle, a wide expanse of volcanic rock between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. This desolate landscape resembles a lunar desert. You'll arrive at Kibo Hut, your base camp for the summit attempt.
Spend the afternoon preparing your gear, hydrating, and resting. An early dinner is served before you go to bed — the summit push begins around midnight.

Day 4
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak (5895M) then Descend to Horombo Hut (3720M)

Elevation Loss: ~2,175m (to Horombo)

You’ll start your summit attempt around midnight, ascending via a steep switchback path to Gilman’s Point (5,685m) on the crater rim. From there, it’s a 1.5–2 hour trek along the edge to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
After celebrating at the summit, you’ll descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest and snack. Then continue further down to Horombo Hut, where you’ll enjoy lower altitude, more oxygen, and a warm meal.

Day 5

Zone: Moorland to Rainforest
Your final descent takes you down through the heath and rainforest zones, back into lush, green vegetation. Expect to pass through Mandara Hut, the first overnight stop for trekkers on the Marangu Route, before continuing to Marangu Gate.
At the gate, you’ll check out and receive your certificate of completion. A vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to Moshi and drop you to the point of your choice in Moshi.
