Day 1
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel at around 9:00 AM to begin the tour. Start with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving and educational tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide, followed by a guided tour that shares Rwanda’s story of tragedy, resilience, and hope.
Next, head to the Camp Kigali Memorial, where 10 Belgian peacekeepers were killed, and continue to explore the Old City area, including historic buildings and neighborhoods.
Break for a local lunch at one of Kigali’s popular restaurants, where you can try Rwandan cuisine.
In the afternoon, visit the Kimironko Market, Kigali’s busiest local market, full of fresh produce, fabrics, and crafts. Then, stop by the Inema Arts Center or Caplaki Crafts Village to see and shop for local art, handmade jewelry, and souvenirs.
End the day with a scenic drive to one of the city’s best viewpoints—Mount Kigali for a panoramic view of Kigali before being dropped off at your hotel in the early evening.
