Day 2

Arusha To Tarangire National Park

Distance: 120 km | Drive Time: ~2.5–3 hours
After breakfast, you'll drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees that dot the landscape. You'll begin your game drive as soon as you enter the park, keeping an eye out for lions lounging in the sun, giraffes nibbling acacia leaves, and warthogs dashing through the grasslands. You'll enjoy a packed picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire River, where animals gather to drink. After a full afternoon of wildlife viewing, you will continue to Karatu for an overnight stay at Marera Valley Lodge, located amidst rolling coffee farms and vibrant gardens.

Distance: 45 km to Ngorongoro | Drive Time: ~1.5 hours to Ngorongoro and 3 hours to Serengeti
You'll depart early to reach the rim of the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five. After descending 600 meters into the crater floor, you'll spend the day observing lions, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, flamingos, and the elusive black rhino. With its lush grasslands and a permanent freshwater lake, the crater offers an unrivaled game viewing experience. After your picnic lunch by a hippo pool, you'll ascend and continue toward Serengeti. Your overnight stay at Friends —Serengeti Camp, where the sound of nature replaces the city noise.

You'll rise early for a full day of adventure in Serengeti National Park, a wildlife spectacle like no other. Depending on the time of year, you may witness part of the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over a million wildebeest and zebras roam in search of greener pastures. Even outside the migration, Serengeti’s predator population is unmatched, with cheetahs sprinting through the plains, lions resting atop kopjes, and leopards lounging in sausage trees. You'll spend the day exploring various ecosystems and enjoying a scenic bush lunch before returning to camp for a relaxing evening under the stars.

You'll start your day with a tranquil sunrise game drive, the best time to see predators hunting or nocturnal animals wrapping up their nightly routines. After breakfast at camp, you’ll be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip for your domestic flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Stone Town, your driver will transfer you to the waterfront Tembo House Hotel & Apartments. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the pool, explore the old streets of Stone Town, or enjoy dinner at a seaside restaurant.
