Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your personal safari guide who will brief you on your upcoming adventure. A short transfer brings you to Pazuri Inn, a cozy and charming hotel nestled in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. Here you can relax after your flight, take in the sights of Mount Meru, and prepare for the journey ahead. Dinner is served at the lodge or a local restaurant depending on arrival time.

Day 2

Enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park. Depart after an early breakfast for the legendary Serengeti National Park, driving through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the crater highlands and can stop at a Maasai village for an optional cultural tour. Once you enter the Serengeti, the terrain opens into sweeping plains filled with wildlife. You’ll enjoy a game drive en route to Friends Serengeti Camp, your base for the next two nights. The evening ends with sundowners and a delicious dinner beneath the stars.

Wake up to the sounds of the wild and embark on a full day of game drives across the Serengeti’s diverse ecosystems. Depending on the time of year, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over 1.5 million animals traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. Your guide will also help you track predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Break for a bush picnic under a shady tree before continuing the drive. As the sun sets, return to camp for a warm shower and storytelling by the campfire.

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti before heading back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that shelters nearly every species found in East Africa. Continue to Marera Valley Lodge for the night. Use this time to relax, enjoy the lodge’s comforts, or join a short guided walk around the lodge gardens.
