Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading southwest through Maasai villages and open countryside to reach Tarangire NP.

Once inside the park, you’ll begin a full-day game drive. Tarangire is known for its striking landscape dotted with ancient baobab trees and its large population of elephants, which can often be seen in family groups near the Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline during the dry season. The park is also home to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and many species of birds. You'll stop at a designated picnic site for lunch, where you can relax while enjoying the sounds and sights of the bush. In the afternoon, the game drive continues as you explore different areas of the park, offering new chances to spot wildlife.

Later in the day, you’ll exit the park and travel toward the Lake Manyara region, where you’ll rest and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2

Lake Manyara

Lake Manyara

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the nearby Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. Though smaller in size, this park is incredibly diverse and offers a completely different landscape from Tarangire.

As you enter, you'll pass through a lush groundwater forest, home to blue monkeys, baboons, and occasional elephants. The park is especially known for its tree-climbing lions, which may be seen lounging on acacia branches, as well as its birdlife, with flamingos and other water birds lining the shores of Lake Manyara. The open grasslands and acacia woodlands are home to a variety of antelope species, buffalo, giraffes, and more. After several hours of exploring, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch at one of the park’s scenic spots, often near the lake with views of flamingos and hippos.

In the early afternoon, you’ll begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon, marking the end of your short but memorable safari.
