Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. En route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, enjoy scenic views and a stopover to sample fresh tropical fruits at a local roadside market. Upon arrival at Ziwa, have lunch at the ranch and prepare for an unforgettable rhino tracking experience—the only place in Uganda where you can walk to see wild rhinos. The guided trek lasts 1–2 hours and offers opportunities to see zebras, Uganda kobs, and a variety of birdlife. Spend a relaxed evening soaking in the serenity of the sanctuary.

Day 2

Shoebill Tracking | Nile Boat Cruise | Night Game Drive

After an early breakfast, head to the nearby Lugogo Swamp for a unique experience—shoebill tracking by canoe. Glide through papyrus-lined waterways in a local dugout canoe, accompanied by expert rangers and local guides as you search for the rare shoebill stork—often called the “living dinosaur.” After ample time observing this majestic bird and other swamp wildlife, return to the lodge to refresh before continuing to Murchison Falls National Park.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile. Encounter hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, giraffes, and a variety of birdlife including kingfishers, bee-eaters, and raptors. The cruise ends at the base of the powerful Murchison Falls—an awe-inspiring sight.

Later in the evening, go on a night game drive (6:30–9:00 PM) with spotlights to seek out nocturnal predators such as hyenas, lions, leopards, and more.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing in the park. Explore both the northern and southern sectors of Murchison Falls National Park, home to lions, elephants, buffaloes, hartebeest, giraffes, oribis, leopards, and an array of bird species. Your guide will tailor the drive to maximize wildlife sightings.

In the afternoon, hike to the top of Murchison Falls a dramatic trek that rewards you with panoramic views of the Nile exploding through a narrow gorge.
