Day 1
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting game drive. The park derives its name from the Maasai word “Manyara,” referring to the plant Euphorbia tirucalli, which the Maasai traditionally use to create strong and durable livestock fences. Nestled at the base of the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara offers breathtaking scenery and diverse habitats ranging from groundwater forests to open plains and the alkaline lake itself. The Great Rift Valley, one of the world’s most remarkable geological features, stretches approximately 8,000 kilometers from Turkey to Mozambique and was so vast that astronauts could clearly see it from the moon. During your safari, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, and the famous tree-climbing lions, along with a spectacular variety of birdlife including flamingos along the lakeshore.
