Zanzibar to nyerere national park (Boat safaris)

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and transferred to the ferry terminal for the 7:00 AM departure to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your professional driver-guide who will take you on a scenic 4 to 5-hour drive to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Once you arrive at the park, enjoy a hot lunch at the camp followed by a short rest to prepare for the afternoon adventure.

At 4:00 PM, embark on an exciting evening boat safari along the Rufiji River, lasting approximately 2.5 hours. This relaxing yet thrilling experience offers a chance to spot a wide variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of crocodiles and hippos in their natural environment.

As the sun sets over the river, you’ll return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and your overnight stay at Mloka Safari Lodge, a cozy and comfortable retreat located just outside the park, offering the perfect end to your first day in the wild.

After a leisurely breakfast at Mloka Safari Lodge, you will visit a Maasai village for a two-hour cultural experience, offering insight into their unique traditions and way of life. After the visit, you'll begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam with a packed lunch provided. Enjoy a scenic drive with a stop along the way for a picnic lunch before continuing to the city.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you’ll head to the ferry terminal for your return trip to Zanzibar. Once you arrive in Zanzibar, our driver will meet you and transfer you back to your hotel.
