Day 1

Moshi - Lake Manyara National Park

Moshi - Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you’ll drive from the hotel in Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park, which takes about four hours. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you will begin a late afternoon game drive, which is the best time to view animals in this park. As you approach from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon, forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the groundwater forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, while on the escarpment, elephants rest in the shade. Other animals frequently seen include zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos. Your overnight stay will be at the campsite.

Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you’ll venture into the Serengeti's wilderness for a full day of game viewing in the park. With a picnic lunch in hand, you’ll take your time exploring this World Heritage Site, where the earth's largest concentration of plains game still roams free. In the late evening, you’ll return to the campsite for rest, dinner, and your overnight stay.

Early in the morning, you will go on a game drive in the Serengeti before returning to the camp for breakfast. Afterwards, with your lunch box in hand, you’ll continue with a game drive until late afternoon. From here you’ll drive to Ngorongoro for dinner and your overnight stay at the campsite or lodge.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you’ll drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. This is the best place in Tanzania to see black rhinos as well as lion prides that include the magnificent black-maned males. There are lots of colorful flamingos and a variety of water birds. Other game you may see includes leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. Later in the evening, you’ll drive back to your hotel in Moshi.
