6-Day Exploring Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli

Nairobi - Maasai Mara

Morning: You'll typically be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport early in the morning.
Journey: The drive to Masai Mara takes approximately 5-6 hours, depending on the gate you're heading to and road conditions. The journey offers scenic views of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you'll check into your chosen safari lodge or tented camp, have lunch, and perhaps have a short time to relax.
Afternoon Game Drive: In the late afternoon (typically around 3:30 PM), you'll embark on your first game drive, exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara in search of the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) and other incredible wildlife.
Dinner & Overnight: Return to your camp/lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Full Day Maasai Mara

This day is dedicated to exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara. You can discuss with your guide if you prefer an early morning game drive (best for spotting predators) followed by breakfast or a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch to maximize your time in the reserve.
Wildlife Viewing: Focus on finding the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) and other abundant wildlife like wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, and various antelope species. If traveling during the Great Migration (July-October), you'll aim to witness the dramatic river crossings.
Optional Activities (at extra cost): Many tours offer the option of a hot air balloon safari at sunrise (highly recommended for a breathtaking aerial view) or a visit to a local Maasai village to learn about their culture.
Evening: Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Late Afternoon (Lake Nakuru): Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, and check into your chosen accommodation (either inside or just outside the park). Upon arrival, have lunch and a short rest.
Evening: Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge/camp near Lake Nakuru.

Full Day Amboseli

Early morning game drive. This is often the best time to spot predators, as they are more active in the cooler hours. You might also visit Observation Hill for panoramic views of the entire park, including the swamps where elephants and other wildlife gather.
Mid-morning/Lunch: Return to your lodge for breakfast and lunch. You can relax during the hottest part of the day.
Afternoon: Another thrilling game drive, focusing on different areas of the park, perhaps exploring the marshlands or the dried-up Lake Amboseli.
Optional Activity: Many tours offer a visit to a Maasai village in the late afternoon to experience their culture (this usually incurs an extra cost).
