1-Day Trip to Akagera National Park Wildlife

After checking out from your hotel in Kigali, your driver-guide will pick you up for an early morning departure to Akagera National Park. On the way, enjoy a short stop at the Imigongo Art Center and Café for a coffee break and a quick look at traditional Rwandan art. Continue your journey and arrive at the park entrance by 08:00 AM for registration and a briefing from park rangers. Begin your morning game drive, exploring the park’s scenic terrain and spotting a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, impalas, baboons, and possibly even leopards. You'll also encounter hippos and crocodiles along the lakes, and birdwatchers will delight in the park’s rich avifauna. Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, followed by a game-viewing drive through the northern sector. Exit the park in the late afternoon and return to Kigali and drop off to your hotel.
