Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your dedicated guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to the charming town of Karatu—a scenic journey of approximately 2 to 2.5 hours through Tanzania’s beautiful landscapes and rural life. If arriving at Arusha Airport (ARK), your transfer will be shorter but equally scenic.
Upon reaching your lodge, settle in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to explore the local area (optional for an extra cost) or simply relax at the lodge.
As evening falls, savor a delicious dinner prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Rest and recharge, ready to begin your unforgettable safari adventure.

Day 2

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast at your lodge, set off on an exciting drive to Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The journey takes approximately 4–5 hours and passes through the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with optional photo stops at scenic viewpoints along the way.
Upon entering the Serengeti, you’ll be welcomed by sweeping golden plains rich with wildlife. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famed for its diverse ecosystems and the Great Migration—one of nature’s most spectacular events.
Enjoy an immersive game drive as you search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and countless other species. Bird enthusiasts will also appreciate the park’s 500+ bird species.
Midday, take a break for a picnic lunch surrounded by the untamed beauty of the savannah. In the late afternoon, continue your game drive before heading to your lodge for a relaxing evening in the heart of the Serengeti.

Optional activities in Mto wa Mbu include a guided coffee tour with a village walk, a local market visit, or a scenic cycling adventure through banana plantations. These experiences offer a deeper connection to Tanzanian culture and are available for an extra cost. After your activity, enjoy lunch before beginning the transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, which takes about 3.5 hours. Alternatively, if departing from Karatu, unwind at your lodge before heading to the airport, with a drive of approximately 3.5–4 hours depending on your final destination. This marks the end of your unforgettable safari journey.
