Upon arrival in Nakuru, you’ll check in at Chester Hotel, a comfortable and centrally located property ideal for relaxation after the drive. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch, then unwind for a short rest before heading out for your first afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. This compact but vibrant park is a haven for bird lovers, boasting thousands of flamingos along the lake’s edge, as well as sightings of white and black rhinos, giraffes, zebras, and elusive predators like leopards. After an early breakfast, you’ll set off on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch in tow, ensuring maximum time in the field. Traverse different regions of the park, from the acacia-dotted woodlands to the open plains, while following the Mara River—famous for the seasonal Great Migration and its large hippo and crocodile populations. This immersive day allows you to encounter the Mara’s rich biodiversity and perhaps even witness a predator-prey interaction in real-time. After breakfast, you’ll depart Maasai Mara and begin your journey to Lake Naivasha, nestled in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you’ll have lunch at Sweet Lake Resort, with serene views of the water and surrounding landscapes. After a short break, visit Hell’s Gate National Park, one of the few parks in Kenya where visitors can walk or cycle alongside wildlife. This dramatic, geothermal landscape inspired scenes in The Lion King and features gorges, cliffs, and steaming vents. An optional boat ride on Lake Naivasha is available at an extra cost, offering close-up views of hippos and an array of birdlife. As the day winds down, you’ll begin the return drive to Nairobi, arriving in the early evening and bringing your safari adventure to a memorable close.
