Your adventure begins in the morning with a pick-up from Kigoma town or Kigoma Airport, followed by a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour boat transfer across the sparkling waters of Lake Tanganyika to Gombe National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your accommodations, then enjoy a freshly prepared lunch. In the afternoon, set out on your first chimpanzee trekking experience with an experienced park guide, venturing through the thick tropical forest in search of Gombe’s famous chimpanzees. Along the way, you may also encounter red-tailed and colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and a variety of bird species. Return to your accommodation in the evening for a delicious dinner and relaxation by the lakeside.

After an early breakfast, head out for a second chimpanzee trek, increasing your chances of spotting these fascinating primates in different forest locations. This morning walk may also include a visit to the scenic Kakombe Waterfall or a gentle lakeside trail, depending on time and your preference. After returning to camp, enjoy an early lunch and prepare for your return journey by boat to Kigoma. You’ll arrive in the afternoon, with drop-off at your hotel or Kigoma Airport, concluding your short but unforgettable safari in one of Africa’s most unique wildlife destinations.
