Upon arrival, a representative from Big Apes Africa will meet you, welcome you to the Pearl of Africa and give you a briefing about your safari. Depending on the time you arrive, you will start your adventure immediately with a transfer to Kibale National Park. Upon arrival, you can choose to rest at the lodge or take a walk in the beautiful gardens of your lodge to stretch from the long drive. If you arrive in the evening, we can arrange for you accommodation in Entebbe so that you rest from the flight and start your journey the next day. Pease let us know in advance the time of your arrival time so that we can prepare effectively.

Day 2
Chimp trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Chimp trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
After an early breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing in preparation of your chimpanzee trekking adventure. These playful primates have a very close relationship with humans as they share 98% of the human DNA. After the briefing, you will be divided in groups of eight each and assigned a ranger guide who will lead you into the forest in search of the chimps. Once you locate them, you will spend an hour with them and you are allowed to take as many pictures with them. Thereafter, you will return to the starting point for your certificate and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most bio-diverse with a mammal count of up to 95 species and up to 600 bird species. You will enjoy a local lunch along the way to taste the rich flavors of local culinary.

Day 3

This morning starts with an early breakfast and a game drive in the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth NP. To make the experience even better, you can have your breakfast packed and you enjoy it while watching the animals in the park, only be careful not to litter. You will be able to spot elephants, buffaloes, impalas, Uganda kobs, warthogs among others and on a lucky day, you can spot a lion and leopard in one game drive. After the game drive, you will take a short lunch break before heading for the boat trip along the Kazinga channel. This channel offers a spectacular view of the wildlife as they flock the river banks to drink water in the heat of the day. You will be able to spot large pods of hippos and giant Nile crocodiles sunbathing at the shores. It gets better with the numerous bird species that you will lose count. A possibility of an evening game drive exists.

Day 4
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP via Ishasha Sector

Get ready for an amazing adventure today as you will be heading further south into the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. But before you get there, you will take a game drive in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP, Ishasha sector. Famously known for the impressive tree-climbing lions, you will enjoy a chase in the true wilderness to find these amazing creatures. You will then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in preparation for your gorilla trek the next day. You will have lunch along the way.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, you will drive to the briefing point in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to get enlightened about your adventure with the mountain gorillas. You are advised to carry enough drinking water and a lunch box. After the briefing, you are distributed into groups of eight and led by a park ranger into the forest where you will spend one hour with the gorillas. At a small fee of 20 dollars, you can hire a porter to give you a hand in the steep or slippery areas and to help you carry your bag. Rain gear and sturdy hiking shoes are important given that Bwindi is a tropical rainforest, it can pour anytime. After the gorilla trek, you will then transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi and you can take a swim in the lake.

Day 6
Transfer to Entebbe via the Equator Point
Transfer to Entebbe via the Equator Point
You will have breakfast at leisure by the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake after Tanganyika in Africa. After, you will start on your journey back to Entebbe. You will have a stopover at the Equator point. Right here, you can stand in both the North and Southern hemispheres. You will get to spend some time souvenir shopping at the craft stalls before continuing to Entebbe.
