3-Day Scheduled Kruger Safari

Kruger safari begins

You will be picked up from lodges within five kilometres of the OR Tambo International Airport between 6:30 and 06:45 in the morning. Then take a scenic drive through to the Kruger area. Upon arrival at Hazyview hotel between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm, you will have the opportunity to unwind, unpack, and enjoy a light lunch. Afterwards, you can choose to take a refreshing swim in the warm African sun or explore the picturesque hotel. At approximately 3:45 pm, we'll embark on an exciting sunset/night safari in the Kruger National Park, offering a chance to witness the park's wildlife as they transition from day to night. We’ll return to the lodge around 8:00 pm, where a delicious dinner awaits, followed by a restful night’s sleep.

Some guests find night safaris particularly thrilling as many animals are more active after sunset, while others might prefer daytime ventures for clearer visibility. Both offer unique experiences and opportunities for incredible wildlife encounters.

Visit one of the best natural reserves in the world

Since Mpumalanga is the first province in South Africa to witness the sunrise, all safaris begin before the sun rises. This is the highlight of the day. Inside the park, our knowledgeable guide will look for the Big 5 and plains game. It is also the greatest time of day to spot predators.

After 3 hours, our guide will pause for a packed picnic breakfast and an opportunity to grab coffee at a panoramic picnic spot. We then continue with your game drive, exploring plains and bushveld areas, as well as rivers and watering holes.

After lunch at a rest camp, there is time to visit the well-stocked curio shop or have a refreshing drink! Then in the afternoon, head back to the hotel, where we will arrive between 15.30 and 16.00 pm. Relax in the early evening and enjoy a delicious meal.

Departure

Today there is final game drive safari, before sunrise. There are more than 500 bird species and 148 mammal species in the Kruger National Park and being the last safari, there is time to still capture many animals on camera. We will continue the safari after a brief stop for coffee and breakfast, arriving back at the lodge at around noon. Here, you bid your guide farewell, before returning to Johannesburg. We arrive between 17:00 and 18:00 pm at the Johannesburg OR Tambo shuttle station and lodges within a 5-kilometre radius.

If you are flying out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day we recommend you do not book flights earlier than 20:00 pm for domestic flights and 21:00 pm for international flights.
