Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll transfer to the Kinigi park headquarters by 7:00 am. There, you’ll join fellow trekkers and meet your ranger guide for a short briefing about the Golden Monkey trek and park regulations. At 8:00 am, you’ll head to the trailhead just outside the park and begin your trek, enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding mountain landscape.

Golden Monkeys are typically found near the park’s edge in bamboo forests, where the terrain is relatively gentle and easy to walk. Once you locate them, you’ll observe their playful behavior as they feed, skillfully picking young bamboo shoots and, occasionally, wandering into nearby potato fields, one of their favorite snacks!

After spending an unforgettable hour with the monkeys, you’ll return to the trailhead and drive back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you'll proceed to the Rwanda–Uganda border. After clearing immigration, the journey continues to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
