Pick Up from Kigali and Transfer to Akagera National Park - Boat Cruise

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our driver-guide who will brief you on your safari adventure. From there, enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park. If you're already in Kigali, our guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and begin the journey to the Kayonza district in Rwanda’s Eastern Province.

Along the way, enjoy planned stopovers for photos and take in the beautiful Rwandan countryside. Upon arrival at the park, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the late afternoon, head out for a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema, offering the chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species along the shores. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Morning Game Drive in Akagera National Park and Back to Kigali

After an early breakfast, you’ll set off for a full-day game drive in Akagera National Park. With your packed lunch in hand, explore the park’s diverse landscapes in search of the Big Five—lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and leopard—along with antelopes, kobs, baboons, and more. Akagera is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, home to over 500 bird species. In the afternoon, you’ll drive back to Kigali and check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight rest.

Pick Up from Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park - Departure

You will be picked up from your hotel at 4:30 a.m. and drive to Musanze, home to golden monkeys, mountain gorillas, and scenic hiking trails. Along the way, enjoy views of Rwanda’s beautiful landscapes and sunrise. Upon arrival, you'll proceed to Kinigi Park Headquarters for a briefing and meet your guides.

After park formalities, set off on an unforgettable Golden Monkey trek. Once spotted, you’ll spend one magical hour observing these playful primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to Kigali with a stop for souvenir shopping, depending on your flight schedule. You’ll then be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure.
