Day 1

We will pick you up from your hotel. After meeting your guide, and fellow travellers, you'll embark on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its diverse landscapes. The park is particularly famous for its ancient baobab trees and is home to the largest elephant population in Tanzania, offering unique opportunities to witness elephant families interacting. You'll enjoy a game drive through the park, focusing on areas where recent animal sightings have been reported (though spotting predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards can be more challenging). You'll also encounter plenty of herbivores such as giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras throughout the park.
After a delicious lunch, you'll continue with the game drive and plan to exit the park around 4:30 pm. From there, you'll head to your accommodation (Ngedere lodge & camps) for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you'll depart from Mto wa Mbu for a 6-hour drive to Serengeti, with scenic stops along the way. The route passes through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you'll stop at the Ngorongoro Crater gate and viewpoint for a 20-minute break, offering stunning views. If interested, visit a Maasai village to explore the fascinating culture of the Maasai people, known for their warrior traditions and lion-hunting practices, now mostly faded but still intriguing. Arriving in Serengeti in the late afternoon, you'll enjoy a game drive around Seronera, where you might witness predators in action during sunset. You'll end the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Tanapa rest house.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, you'll embark on a morning game drive to observe the diverse wildlife and see the sunrise. In the afternoon, you’ll return to camp for lunch and pack up. As you exit the Serengeti, you’ll enjoy another game drive. Your journey will then take you to Simba Campsite, a 2-hour drive, located near the edge of the Ngorongoro Highland. From the campsite, you'll have the chance to spot animals in the surrounding area.

Day 4

After a quick breakfast, you'll begin your descent into the crater, embarking on a search for the elusive black rhino. Due to the unique terrain of the crater floor, spotting rhinos can be quite challenging, adding to the excitement of the adventure.
Following lunch, you'll head out for a game drive. Afterward, you'll ascend the crater and return to camp. There, you'll prepare your bags for the next leg of the journey, as you head to a camp near Lake Manyara National Park.

Day 5

After breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting game drive. You'll have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of birds. If you're fortunate, you may even spot the famous tree-climbing lions. You’ll also visit the hippo pool for a closer look at these incredible animals and explore the hot springs. During the game drive, you'll encounter a range of wildlife, including buffaloes, wildebeests, warthogs, vultures, eagles, monkeys, and more. Later, you’ll drive back to Arusha and check in at Jevas Hotel for an overnight stay, where you can relax and prepare for the next day’s adventure to Kilimanjaro.

Day 6
Materuni waterfalls
Materuni waterfalls
Today, you will visit the waterfalls which are a walk of around 40 minutes. On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, their village life and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breathtaking, and with some luck, you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim, so don‘t forget your swimwear!
After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer – definitely not to be missed!
The coffee tour is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture. Before you say goodbye, you can savor the coffee you made and appreciate the views of the surrounding rainforest.
