Mikumi is one of the most accessible and wildlife-rich parks in southern Tanzania. It features open grasslands, scattered baobab trees, and a backdrop of the Uluguru Mountains. A Jeep safari in Mikumi offers sightings of giraffes, elephants, zebras, hippos, and prides of lions. It’s often called a “mini-Serengeti” for its landscape and wildlife density. After breakfast in the morning, you will start your safari to Mikumi NP by Jeep, approximately 6 hours with different stops on the way for stretching, photos, and lunch. By evening before check-in at your camp, you will get a chance to have a little exhibition of spotting animals with different animal highlights on the Mikumi NP highway while you drive heading to your camp. The tour typically begins early in the morning after breakfast. Early starts are ideal, as wildlife is most active during the cooler hours of the day. You’ll enter the park aboard a comfortable open-roof 4x4 safari vehicle, specially designed to offer excellent views and photography opportunities.
