Nairobi – Drive to Samburu National Reserve

Pick-up: 6:30 AM from your Nairobi hotel or residence

Drive Time: Approx. 6–7 hours (320 km)

Depart Nairobi and head north through the fertile Central Highlands, past Mt. Kenya and into the arid northern frontier.

Scenic Stops: Possible photo stop near Mt. Kenya and equator crossing at Nanyuki.

Lunch: En route or upon arrival at Samburu Sopa Lodge

Afternoon Game Drive: Explore the reserve in search of Samburu’s “Special Five” – Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk.
