Day 1

Nairobi to Lake Nakuru – Flamingos, Forests & Rhino Zones

Nairobi to Lake Nakuru – Flamingos, Forests & Rhino Zones

Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from Nairobi in a private safari van (pop-up roof). You’ll travel through the green highlands and descend into the Great Rift Valley — stopping briefly at a scenic viewpoint to admire the landscape that stretches below like an ancient scar.

By midday, you arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its alkaline lake, acacia woodlands, and impressive rhino sightings. After lunch at your budget lodge, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive.

Nakuru is packed with wildlife: expect to see buffalo, giraffes, zebra, and possibly the elusive leopard. White and black rhinos often graze near the roads, and the lake, when conditions allow, is dotted with flamingos and pelicans. The park’s compact size means you see a lot in a short time.

In the evening, settle in at your lodge for a warm meal and overnight rest.

Full-Day Safari in the Mara – Where the Wild Runs Free

Rise early and gear up for a full-day game drive in the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. With picnic lunch boxes loaded, your guide will take you deeper into the reserve — crossing rivers, open grasslands, and wooded trails.

You’re now in Big Five territory. Lions hunt, leopards lounge in trees, and elephants stroll the plains. Cheetahs are often spotted here, scanning for prey in the open terrain. You may also see hyenas, jackals, hippos, and crocodiles along the rivers.

Enjoy your packed lunch under an acacia tree or beside a riverbank, then continue tracking wildlife until late afternoon.
