Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2–3 hours), passing through scenic Maasai plains and rural landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, begin your full-day game drive through one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems. Tarangire is best known for its vast herds of elephants, towering baobab trees, and sweeping savannahs dotted with acacia trees. The park’s permanent river attracts a wide variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season, making it an excellent spot for viewing lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 500 species of birds. Your expert guide will help you spot hidden animals and share fascinating insights about the ecosystem.

Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park, then continue exploring different parts of the reserve until late afternoon. As the sun begins to set, exit the park and drive to your campsite near Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll settle in for the evening.
