Arusha - Tarangire National Park
Pick-up from your Arusha hotel will be in the morning, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes approximately 2–3 hours. You will enjoy a full-day game drive in the park, known for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and the seasonal Tarangire River. Wildlife you may encounter includes lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and over 500 bird species. The park is named after the Tarangire River, the only reliable water source for wildlife in the area during the dry season. The vegetation varies from dense elephant grass and acacia woodlands to lush groundwater forests. Elephant families are often seen gathered near the river, and other animals such as giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests are also common. These herbivores attract predators like lions and leopards. The park is especially notable for its high number of bird species, with more breeding species recorded here than anywhere else on Earth.

Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
Depart early in the morning for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Spend the day exploring the crater floor, where you may encounter black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and abundant birdlife around the soda lake. When you first arrive, the crater appears like a forgotten world, hidden behind steep volcanic walls. Inside lies a pristine wilderness of sweeping savannah, acacia woodland, and glistening lakes and swamps. Formed by the collapse of a massive volcano, the crater is renowned for its geological features and for hosting one of the densest populations of large mammals in Africa. It offers one of the best opportunities to spot the endangered black rhino in open grasslands. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending and returning to the lodge.

Day 4
Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha
After an early breakfast, we’ll make the short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a relatively small but diverse park located about 120 km west of Arusha. On the way, there is the option to visit Mto wa Mbu village or a local market for a cultural experience. The park is named after the shallow alkaline lake that covers roughly seventy percent of its area. This seasonal soda lake attracts thousands of flamingos and is home to over 500 other bird species. As we explore the park, we may encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and, if we’re lucky, lions resting in the trees. Lake Manyara is also known for its varied landscapes, which include open grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs. After lunch, we’ll return to Arusha, with the adventure coming to its end. You’ll arrive in time for your flight home or a flight to Zanzibar.
