Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi impenetrable National Park, Pygmy experience

After your breakfast, we will come to pick you up from your hotel in Kigali by your professional driver-guide. Prepare for a scenic 4h30-hour drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Uganda’s countryside rolling green hills, the volcano mountains chain, traditional homesteads, and expansive tea and banana plantations.

You will then continue your way until Rushaga, check in at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, located near the southern sector of Bwindi.
Later in the afternoon, go for the pygmy experience nearby Rushaga. The Bwindi Batwa Cultural Experience offers a fascinating glimpse into the traditional life of the Batwa people, who were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You'll then meet your Batwa guide who will warmly welcome you and provide an introduction to the Batwa people's history, their ancestral connection to the forest, and the reasons for their displacement before you start you interact with them.

Gorilla trek and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Bwindi park headquarters for a detailed gorilla trekking briefing. You’ll then join a group of trekkers and rangers to begin your journey into the dense forest. Gorilla trekking can take between 2 upto 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you’re tracking. Once found, you’ll be allowed one unforgettable hour to observe these magnificent primates up close as they feed, interact, and move through the undergrowth.

After your trek, Later in the afternoon, you’ll drive approximately 2 hours to Lake Bunyonyi, where you’ll check in to your accommodation, a peaceful mid-range retreat along the lakefront.

Enjoy a relaxing evening by the lake, surrounded by terraced hills and the peaceful sound of birdsong.

Lake Bunyonyi Boat tour and transfer to Kigali

Enjoy a leisurely morning breakfast with panoramic views of Lake Bunyonyi, often considered one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a guided boat cruise, exploring some of the lake’s famous islands, such as Punishment Island, rich with historical significance, and others known for their scenic beauty and cultural stories.

After your lake excursion, begin the return drive to Kigali, a journey of approximately 4 hours. Depending on your schedule, your guide will drop you off directly at Kigali International Airport for your evening departure or proceed with a short Kigali city tour.
