Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by your professional guide and begin a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park (approximately 2.5 hours). Depending on your arrival time, you may opt for a brief Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial (optional at no extra cost). Arrive at your lodge near Volcanoes in the evening for dinner and overnight, surrounded by stunning views of the Virunga volcanoes.

Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a golden monkey trekking briefing. Venture into the bamboo forest with a ranger guide to observe these playful, endangered primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for a quick lunch or packed meal, then drive to the Cyanika or Katuna border and cross into Uganda. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving in the evening.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking orientation. Then set off into the forest with expert trackers to find a mountain gorilla family. Once located, spend one unforgettable hour in their presence. After the trek, return to the lodge to freshen up and begin your journey back to Kigali. Enjoy scenic landscapes and countryside views en route. Drop-off at Kigali Airport or your hotel in the late afternoon or evening.
