Day 1

Transfer to Volcanoes national park

On this day you will be met by our driver guide at the Kigali Airport/Hotel and proceed for a short city tour where you will visit the local markets and then continue to Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn more about the fight that took place in Apirl 1994 between the Hutus and Tutsi, the genocide was conceived by extremist elements of Rwanda's majority Hutu population who planned to kill minority Tutsi population and who ever opposed those genocide intentions its guided tour to the fast-growing neighbourhoods of Kigali that are changing the face of the city. You will drive through the lush with beautiful landscapes. Stop for lunch en route then drive to Musanze for your evening relaxation and overnight.

Day 2

Golden Monkey Trek and Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head into Volcanoes National Park for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience. These playful primates are found only in this region and are a joy to observe in their natural habitat. Enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you start your trek into the park to find the golden monkeys. The golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forests where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. Find the monkeys and follow them as they feed, noticing how they skillfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. They may also move out of the park into the gardens fields near by the park.
After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Thereafter, head to the Uganda Rwanda border where after clearing we will proceed to Bwindi for overnight.

Day 3

Gorilla tracking and transfer to lake Bunyonyi

After early morning breakfast, walk to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts during gorilla tracking. Thereafter, you will proceed to the forest. Gorilla tracking normally lasts between 2 to 8 hours or even a day to encounter the gorillas. However, you'll be allowed to stay with these awesome apes for at least an hour. It is advisable that you carry packed lunch, which will be provided at the lodge in the morning before you leave, as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas. Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive is through a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather, lake Bunyonyi is said to be one of the most beautiful lake and place we have in Uganda.

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will meet your safari guide and begin your journey to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. Enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling hills and lush countryside, arriving at your lodge in time to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
