Your adventure starts with a warm pickup from your Kigali hotel or airport. Your guide will give you a short briefing about the 3-day safari ahead. You'll begin with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a moving place that tells the story of Rwanda’s history and honors those lost in 1994. Afterward, you will explore local markets like Kimironko or Nyamirambo, filled with colorful crafts, carvings, and fabrics—perfect for souvenirs and meeting local artisans. You'll enjoy lunch in Kigali before setting off on a scenic drive through rolling hills, tea and coffee plantations, and lush countryside. You'll arrive at Volcanoes National Park in the late afternoon, check into your lodge, and relax surrounded by misty mountains, ready for your golden monkey trekking adventure the next day.

After an early breakfast, you will head to Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi for a 7:00 am briefing. You'll begin your Golden Monkey trekking adventure at 8:00 am—hike through bamboo forests to observe these energetic and playful primates in their natural habitat. You'll spend one magical hour with them. Then, you'll return to the lodge to freshen up and have lunch. In the afternoon, you'll transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park via the Cyanika border (1–1.5 hrs). You'll arrive in Kisoro, check in at your lodge, and relax as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking. Your dinner and overnight stay will be near Mgahinga.

Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga & Transfer to Kigali
Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga & Transfer to Kigali
You'll start your day with an early breakfast and head to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters for a 7:00 am briefing. You'll begin your gorilla trekking adventure through the forested slopes of the Virunga Mountains. The trek may take 2–6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once found, you'll spend a powerful and unforgettable hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you'll begin your scenic transfer back to Kigali (approx. 4–5 hours), with an optional stop at the Rwanda–Uganda border crafts market. You'll arrive in Kigali in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
